A hospital in Montgomery, Alabama has a Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine position available for the right candidate. The practice is affiliated with Jackson Hospital & Clinic, Inc. in Montgomery, Alabama, a 344-bed tertiary hospital providing a wide continuum of inpatient services with a fully developed ambulatory service line on campus. Alabama?s central region campus for Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) is located at Jackson Hospital. ACOM offers physicians paid preceptor opportunities.

Compensation Package Overview

  • Salary of $350k
  • Comprehensive benefits paid including health, malpractice.
  • Generous sign-on ($40k)
  • Relocation package (up to $5k)
  • Potential bonus for non-partners at the end of the year

Practice Details

  • 8 physicians and 5 nurse practitioners.
  • Average hospital rounding list, 12-16 patients.
  • Office, an average of five new patients per clinic, and eight to 12 follow-up patients per clinic.
  • Can accept an MD or DO
  • J1 or H1B acceptable
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible

Responsibilities

  • Rotate hospitals monthly. All physicians share equal responsibility.
  • Teaching responsibilities are Internal Medicine Residency Program at UAB, Baptist Medical Center South, and Family Practice Residency Program at Baptist Medical Center South.
  • Medical students, University Alabama Birmingham, VCOM, ACOM. PA students, Faulkner University Montgomery.
  • Rounding responsibility, Intensive Care Unit Baptist Medical Center South – 48 beds. Baptist Medical Center East – 16 beds. Baptist Medical Center Prattville – 6 beds. Jackson Hospital – 24 beds.
  • Telemedicine weekends, Prattville Baptist – 6 beds.
  • Procedures performed: Bronchoscopy, navigational bronchoscopy, EBUS, central line, A-line, POCUS, PleurX catheter placement, chest tube placement.
  • During ICU rotation there will be limited or no office patient responsibility.
  • Non-ICU rotation is 50% office and 50% hospital rounding.
  • Weekend call approximately one in four or five weekends.
  • The weekend call starts Thursday at 2 p.m. and ends Monday at 7 a.m.
  • If you are not working a weekend, you are off Thursday at 2 p.m. until Monday at 7 a.m.
  • Weeknight calls average two per month.
